Two workers died after fire on tanker in Chittagong

A fire broke out in the engine room on board a tanker, beached in Chittagong, on February 18, killing two workers. According to information, the two men died while scrapping the ship Greek Warrior at Shagorika Ship Breaking Yard. One of the men was burned and rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, but he died before reaching the hospital. The body of the second man was discovered on board a few hours later.

BW LPG recycles vessel in compliance with Hong Kong convention

Martin Ackermann, CEO of BW LPG confirmed that the company's LPG carrier 'BW Helios' arrived at a recycling facility in India on January 21, as the company aspires to be compliant with the Hong Kong Convention. The yard was fully inspected and certified by an International Class Society in Mar 2017, meeting the requirements of IMO Resolution 210/63, 2012 guidelines for the safe and environmentally sound recycling of ships, as per the Hong Kong Convention.
