The USCG signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the European Commission on February 28, 2020, for oversight of mutually recognized organizations for survey and certification of commercial vessels.

RINA released a statement according to which CSR Europe - a European business network for the Corporate Social Responsibility- has launched 'CEOs Call to Action', which addresses to those CEOs and companies throughout Europe that consider sustainability as a central and qualifying element in their way to do business.

RINA announced that it coordinates SecureGas, a new EU-funded project, to rise the security and resilience of the European gas network. Thus, European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program has funded SecureGas, under the grant agreement no 833017, to ensure the security and resilience of the EU gas network. 

According to One Sea's press release, three major industry players joined One Sea boosting the future of autonomous ship technology in the maritime sector. Specifically, Inmarsat and MIT (Monohakobi Technology Institute) joined One Sea as full members, whereas RINA, the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to become an associate member. 

RINA presented its new digital equipment called the Kiber Helmet, which is a wearable device, to be used by onboard field engineers that connects them with inspectors and specialised experts ashore. Multiple people can participate in a support session and the session can also be recorded for later playback or training.

RINA, the Italian Classification Society, focused on the matter of noise coming from vessels, as the majority of noise is emitted underwater, thus the public is unaware of the problem. Yet, marine noise results to the interference of animal's ability to hear, having a huge impact the reproduction and survival of animals.
