Maersk completed its first successful shipped-mangoes operation from Nhava Sheva in Mumbai to London's Felixstowe. Exporter Bombay Exports, exported 21 tonnes of Kesar and Badami mangoes into the time-frame of three weeks via Maersk’s reefer containers that use advance Remote Container Management (RCM) technology and container atmosphere technology. 

A.P. Moller Holding, which controls Danish shipping giant A.P. Moller-Maersk, informed that it will buy Danish wind turbine supplier KK Group, making its first step entering into the renewable energy industry. The acquisition is now subject to approval from the relevant Danish and German authorities, and is expected to be finalized in the third quarter of 2019. 

Denmark has put a fine on French oil and gas major Total, of 500,000 Danish crowns ($75,145) for discharging chemicals in the North Sea, by a company it acquired in 2017, according to the Danish broadcaster DR. The former oil unit of Maersk, Maersk Oil, was reported to the police by the Danish environmental protection agency, back in 2017.

The first voyage of the 2019 summer season across the Northern Sea Route began with a liquefied natural gas tanker transmitting cargo from the Yamal LNG through Arctic waters north of Russia towards Asia, Reuters reports. 

PSA Norway has carried out an audit of Maersk Drilling and Repsol Norge for the Yme development project. The audit took place from 6 to 10 May 2019 on the Yme development project, regarding the management of major accident risk and barriers. The audit found no non-conformities, however it audit identified improvement points.

Israeli shipping firm Zim Integrated Shipping Services (ZIM) announced a further expansion of its Strategic Cooperation with the members of the 2M Alliance, Danish Maersk and Geneva-based MSC, to the Asia - US Gulf Trade.

Hapag-Lloyd and Singapore-based Ocean Network Express (ONE) Pte. Ltd announced they will join the blockchain-enabled digital shipping platform 'TradeLens'. This platform is jointly developed by A.P. Moller - Maersk and IBM. Hapag-Lloyd and ONE now join CMA CGM and MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, both of which recently announced they are joining TradeLens.

MedPort Tangier terminal, part of APM Terminals serving as a trans-shipment hub for Danish shipping giant Maersk, was inaugurated this week in the Tanger Med Port complex, in a bid to establish Marocco as one of the most important transshipment locations in the world.

According to the Wall Street Journal, A.P. Moller-Maersk AS aims to expand its capacity specifically in the logistics-services capabilities, part of a strategic change to a  landside business, and hopes will produce half its revenue in two years. Maersk's Chief Executive Soren Skou plans to complete Maersk’s makeover by 2021.
