Worker injured after falling from ladder on Terra Nova FPSO

A worker onboard the Terra Nova FPSO, off the east coast of Canada, was injured Sunday, after falling from a ladder while conducting gas testing, the operator informed in an official statement. The offshore medic and emergency response team were called to the scene.

Canadian regulator suspends production on Terra Nova FPSO

The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) issued a notice of non-compliance and an order to suspend production-related operations on the Terra Nova Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, operated by Suncor Energy about 350 kilometres east of St. John’s.

Brazil continues to drive global deployment of floating production storage and offloading vessels (FPSOs), with a total of 21 planned and announced FPSOs during the outlook period 2019 to 2025, according to data and analytics firm GlobalData.

SBM Offshore secures $1.14 billion loan for Liza Unity FPSO

Dutch group SBM Offshore announced it has completed the project financing of FPSO Liza Unity by a consortium of nine international banks, for a total of US$1.14 billion. The company expects to draw the loan in full, phased over the construction period of the FPSO.

Guidelines launched for the proper assessment of FPSOs

OCIMF published the second edition of its Guidelines on the Marine Assessment of F(P)SOs. The new guidelines establish a framework for assessing the marine sections of Floating (Production) Storage and Offloading (F(P)SO) facilities, in order to comply with international legislation and industry best practice.
