Japan’s MODEC inked a Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Equinor Brasil Energia Ltda, to supply a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel for the Bacalhau (formerly Carcará) field offshore Brazil, the largest FPSO facility ever delivered to Brazil.

Dutch group SBM Offshore announced it has completed the project financing of FPSO Liza Unity by a consortium of nine international banks, for a total of US$1.14 billion. The company expects to draw the loan in full, phased over the construction period of the FPSO.
The ‘Power’ FPSO hull (Floating production storage and offloading) floated out from dock of the COSCO’s shipyards in Zhoushan, China in September, about 10 months after first steel cut. Normally, the hull completion was expected to be complete in 12 months.
OCIMF published the second edition of its Guidelines on the Marine Assessment of F(P)SOs. The new guidelines establish a framework for assessing the marine sections of Floating (Production) Storage and Offloading (F(P)SO) facilities, in order to comply with international legislation and industry best practice.
