Norwegian Cruise Line announced that it is homeporting a ship in Amsterdam for the first time with the European debut of Norwegian Pearl. With this move, the brand expanded its presence to six vessels in the area. On June 8, Norwegian Pearl's Captain, Paul von Knorring, and the ship’s officers were given a plaque and key to the city of Amsterdam.

The Norwegian Sun cruise vessel sailed back to Port Canaveral, June 7, some days after the US Department announced the ban of US cruise ships from making stops in Cuba. It was diverted on June 4, an hour after it had left Key West.

As local sources report, the Columbus cruise ship unexpectedly changed its course and docked at the Felison Cruise Terminal in IJmuiden. Before this decision, a US Federal judge threatened that she might block Carnival Corporation from docking cruise ships at ports in the US as punishment for a possible probation violation.

According to local sources, the Costa Mediterranea cruise ship experienced a technical problem while docked at the port of Stavanger, Norway. Specifically, the cruise ship suffered problems during an exercise routine, as two lifeboats were stuck, as the seafarers tried to lift them up.
