Bureau Veritas, Naval Group and Dassault Systèmes announced that a 3D classification process has been applied to a naval vessel for the first time. This project aims to reduce the time and costs of design review and improve data accuracy and traceability. 

The new conversion guidelines provide clear advice to the LNG industry on how to address these issues that either will or may arise during the conversion of LNG carriers into FSRUs or FSUs, helping shipowners to either avoid or to overcome potential problems. The guidelines aim to support the construction and operation of FSRUs and FSUs.

Bureau Veritas will release a cloud-based application to help operators comply with the upcoming regulations, and improve their energy efficiency. The app is called "My Fuel Consumption", and Bureau Veritas will release its first phase. "My Fuel Consumption" aims to help with compliance, as it uses a digitized process throughout the various steps of IMO-DCS and EU MRV regulations.

Therefore, it is important all industry’s stakeholders to understand the threat landscape, consider the given guidelines and comply with the upcoming legislation in order to be fully prepared to address the associated challenges.

Bureau Veritas launched a digital application to help crewmembers prepare for port state control inspections, called "PSC Ready". Specifically,  PSC Ready assists ship operators be ready for port state control inspections. ‘PSC Ready’ is a cloud-based application, downloadable for both IOS and Android.

New guidelines are developed to help operators in addressing maritime cyber risks. With a series of classification notations, guidelines and services, operators can have a tool to help them comply with regulatory requirements, safeguard their crews and protect their assets from cyber attacks.

According to these security guidelines, software components' goal is to provide intelligent func­tionalities in complex systems. This makes the need to identify effective security prac­tices for software components, even greater.

French offshore company Bourbon and classification society Bureau Veritas have signed a strategic partnership agreement to develop and deploy automation and real time monitoring fleet applications, developing digital technologies, while mitigating cyber risks.
