Bangladesh receives its second LNG FSRU

Bangladesh’s second LNG storage and regasification vessel has moored off its coast, aiming to help supply the country with the alternative fuel. The FSRU 'Summit LNG' is moored 6 km off the island of Moheshkhali in Cox’s Bazar. It is expected that around 3.75 million tonnes a year of LNG will be imported through the facility, thus doubling Bangladesh’s LNG import capacity to 7.5 million tonnes per year.

Bangladesh to receive its second LNG FSRU

Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine's first FSRU has undergone maintenance work before its journey to the Bay of Bengal. When it arrives there, it will serve as Bangladesh’s second FRSU. The maintenance work took place at the Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard. During its drydocking, the FSRU went through various modifications and retrofitting of new systems, including the installation of a BWTS.

Two workers died after fire on tanker in Chittagong

A fire broke out in the engine room on board a tanker, beached in Chittagong, on February 18, killing two workers. According to information, the two men died while scrapping the ship Greek Warrior at Shagorika Ship Breaking Yard. One of the men was burned and rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, but he died before reaching the hospital. The body of the second man was discovered on board a few hours later.
