Thailand enters Work in Fishing Convention

Thailand is the first country in Asia to accept the Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (No. 188), that protects the living and working conditions of fishers onboard vessels. The Convention has specific requirements related to work on board fishing vessels, including occupational safety and health, medical care at sea and ashore, rest periods, written work agreements, and social security protection.

Argentinean submarine located one year after it vanished with 44 crew

The seabed exploration company Ocean Infinity announced that it has located the missing Argentine Navy submarine 'ARA San Juan', exactly one year after it disappeared in the Atlantic ocean, along with its 44 crew. After two months of search, the company located the wreckage in a ravine in 920m of water, approximately 600 km east of Comodoro Rivadavia in the Atlantic Ocean.
