The vessel Econuri is reported to have attracted international attention for its energy efficient and eco-friendly features and is considered to be ‘Asia’s very first LNG-fueled ship’, built by the Incheon Port Authority.
According to Incheon Port Authority , the LNG vessel can offer fuel cost savings of 24 percent and drastically reduce emissions of nitrogen oxide and carbon dioxide. The vessel is measuring 38 meters in height and 8 meters in width, the 200-ton and can accommodate up to 57 passengers with a cruising speed of speed of 27.7 kilometers per hour.
Econuri attracted attention for its energy efficiency and environmental friendlinessduring the LNG Bunkering Conference in Singapore where the IPA officials made a presentation on the construction and management of the Econuri.
The Korea Bizwire informs that since 2013, where the ship was launched for the first time, more than 9,000 people have been onboard for 395 journeys.
