LNG supplier and terminal operator, Skangas, released an announcement informing that it will hold a naming ceremony for he first ice class 1A super liquefied natural gas LNG vessel.
According to the announcement, the ceremony will take place on January 25, at the Port of Turku, in Finland.
The ship will be named ‘Coral EnergICE’ and it is planned to start shipping LNG to Pori and Tornio terminals.
“Finland’s first LNG import terminal was opened in Pori in August 2016. The new LNG terminal in Tornio will be operational early 2018. When operational, it will be the Nordic’s biggest import terminal,” Skangas said.
Skangas signed a deal with the Dutch shipping company, ‘Anthony Veder’, the owner of the ship, regarding the long-term time-charter of the vessel, in 2016.
The LNG tanker was constructed at the Neptun Werft shipyard in Germany.
