Gasum, is a Finnish expert in natural energy gases, and is renaming Skangas company since by October it holds the 100% of Skangas company. Altering its name will enhance the Gasum brand in the Nordic countries and the position of Gasum as the leading provider of LNG in the region. All Skangas companies will be renamed to Gasum. However, the business ID codes or contact details are not to be altered.

Coral EnergICE, the first Ice Class 1A Super LNG carrier owned by Anthony Veder and operated by Skangas, was named on 25 January at the Port of Turku, Finland. The ship is designed to operate in the Baltic Sea, with its hull reinforced to break through one-meter thick ice.

The ceremony will take place on January 25, at the Port of Turku, in Finland. The ship will be named 'Coral EnergICE' and it is planned to start shipping LNG to Pori and Tornio terminals. The LNG tanker was constructed at the Neptun Werft shipyard in Germany.

UK Skangas announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent with National Grid Grain LNG, to source LNG at the Grain LNG import terminal on the Isle of Grain in the UK. The deal aims to ensure that a reliable supply of LNG is available, something critical for the small-scale LNG market.

The LNG import terminal in Tornio, Finland, received its first shipload of LNG by 'Coral Energy', a time-chartered LNG carrier operated by Skangas, on Sunday, 19 November. Once completed in summer 2018, the import terminal will be the largest LNG terminal in the Nordic countries and the second LNG terminal in Finland.

Norwegian Skangas and The Netherlands-based Titan LNG have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on LNG cooperation, with the aim to contribute to the overall availability as well as the optimization of LNG deliveries in the wider region.

The first LNG bunkering of a ship, whilst it was loading, took place in the port of Gothenburg, on Friday. Less than a month ago, the port welcomed the first ship-to-ship bunkering of LNG at the quayside. LNG bunkering has in the last few weeks alone become a regular part of operations at the port.

Skangas informed that it successfully completed the first small scale liquefied natural gas loading at the Statoil operated LNG plant at Melkøya island outside Hammerfest in Norway. Statoil delivered the cargo of 100 GWh to Skangas’ vessel Coral Energy.

For the first time, Skangas’ vessel Coralius both cooled down tanks and delivered liquefied natural gas (LNG) in one operation, at Danafjord outside Gothenburg, on 7-8 October.

Skangas informed that its new vessel 'Coralius' bunkered liquefied natural gas to 'Ternsund' tanker in the Port of Gothenburg, in its first operation at the port. Ship-to-ship bunkering is often the preferred solution for transferring fuel, as it offers flexibility in transfer location and swift operation.
