The organization informs that the number of British seafarers has dropped at 75%, since 1975, putting the country’s economic security at risk, so it sends out a SOS, calling for the following:
- Support, including investment in training and employment for British seafarers
- Opportunities for existing seafarers for employment in specific industries, as offshore wind farms or the oil and gas sector
- Standards, in the areas of health, safety, environment, employment, legislation
