According to local Sandefjord Blad, Bohus, a passenger/cargo ro-ro was on fire, on Thursday, May 16, 2019. The fire incident took place at the Framnes quay in Sandefjord, Norway. The vessel had to be ventilated soon after the fire was extinguished.
Specifically, the fire broke out while the vessel was operating the Sandefjord-Strømstad route.
The fire brigade and police were mobilized, whereas the 31 crewmembers were evacuated by the emergency services. The police officer on site, Ottar Steinstø, reported that there were no injuries in the area of the incident.
Moreover, Officer Steinsbø, allegedly said that the fire started in the auxiliary engine and spread out in the motto room.
Because of the fire incident, all departures with Bohus are cancelled.
The Norway-flagged vessel was constructed in 1971, and is owned by Color Line Transport AS care of manager Color Line Marine AS of Sandejfjord, Norway. It is entered with Gard P&I Club on behalf of Color Line Transport AS. It is entered for H&M with Gard AS on behalf of Color Line AS.
