The Republic of Marshall Islands has published a renewal of ship radio station licenses with the purpose to outline the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Maritime Administrator’s policy to supersede Rev. 08/06 and change the expiration date of the Radio Station License.
The Notice is applicable to all RMI flagged vessels equipped with ship radio stations and becomes effective on 01 July 2016.It only applies to those Radio Station Licenses that expire after 30 June 2016.
- Requirements
Ship Radio Station Licenses shall be issued for a period not exceeding four years. The expiration date of all Ship Radio Station Licenses shall be four years from the date of issue. Only Ship Radio Station Licenses for newly flagged vessels that do not have a License with an expiration date of 30 June will be affected by this change in renewal cycle. - It shall be noted that licenses which are expiring on such date are considered valid by the Administrator beyond the expiration date provided that an application for renewal of the License is received by the Administrator’s Radio Services prior to the expiration date.
- Under no circumstances shall a Radio Station License be deemed valid if proper application for renewal is not received prior to expiration.
- A copy of this Notice shall be displayed adjacent to the Ship Radio Station License
