The Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering (KRISO) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the RISE Research Institutes of Sweden to advance maritime technologies.
The MoU represents a commitment from both organizations to collaborate on innovative technological developments, particularly in the areas of decarbonization and digitalization of the maritime industry.
Christian Finnsgård, Head of Maritime Research at RISE, expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, “KRISO signing this agreement with us will bring opportunities for both institutions to start joint research work on decarbonization and digitalization in the maritime sector. As nations, we can benefit from each other and make significant progress together.”
The signing ceremony took place at the renowned towing tank of the SSPA Maritime Center, RISE’s maritime test and demo facility. Mikael Hägg, Head of the RISE Maritime department, and Keyyong Hong, President of KRISO, represented their respective organizations at the event.
