In light of the coronavirus outbreak and the quarantined Diamond Princess cruise vessel, Princess Cruises informed that is searching for the best-in-class disinfection service provider, so as to decontaminate the cruise ship. For the records, the International Transport Workers’ Federation recently announced that its passengers begun to disembark.
Following the cruise passengers’ disembarkation, Princess cruises is seeking for a company with advanced cleaning capabilities in order to get the ship operational again.
“Our focus continues to be on the safety and well-being of our guests and crew. We are seeking to identify the best resources to partner with to clean and disinfect the ship from bow to stern. As the cruise company announced, the cleaning of the 115.875-ton passenger vessel will be a difficult process.
In fact the sanitizing operation includes among others, the removal and proper disposal of all towels (bath, face, hand), bed linens, mattress pads, pillows, duvets, shower curtains, mattresses and the disinfection of curtains and other soft furnishings.
At the same time, the extensive ventilation system will need to be cleaned, as well as the entertainment areas such the spa, fitness center, retail shops, and restaurants.
