The Port of Aden said that last week the ship Optimist coming from Singapore, called the port for the purpose of bunkering. Bunkering services at the port have been resumed following year-long suspension of activities amid a civil war that resulted in the freeze of bunker supply last March.
”This visit came as a result of the great efforts exerted by the Port to provide all the necessary services to its customers especially after the security improvements that are witnessed by the city of Aden. The ship carried the Russian flag and is considered the first ship to call the Port for this service, after a suspension due to the civil war that took place in the country lately and has affected the activities of the Port dramatically.”, the port said.
Aden Bunkering Department is the competent authority that provides this service in the Port of Aden, which resumed its activity recently.
