Pilot-ladder incidents claim three

Underestimating the physical demands and dangers involved

Accidents involving pilot ladders and boarding points have now claimed the lives of at least three seafarers over the past year.

In addition, numerous serious incidents have illustrated how, as in the case of the 4,298-teu YM Tianjin (built 2006), seafarers are underestimating the physical demands and dangers involved.
