The Malaysian energy company Petronas announced that a pipe rupture and a fire incident unexpectedly occurred at the Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP). According to the company, the incidents took place early in the morning, at 1:59 AM, approximately 4 km from Long Selulong, Ulu Baram, Miri.
Petronas managed to put the fire under control, while it is still closely monitoring the situation in order to avoid such incidents.
The company immediately informed the authorities of the whole situation, as there were no injuries reported.

For the records, Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline delivers natural gas to Bintulu in Sarawak where Petrona’s LNG complex is located. The nine-train LNG facility has a combined annual production capacity of about 30 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas.
Concluding, a similar incident took place several months ago, on 12 April 2019, marking an explosion at a Malaysian oil refinery.
