PETRONAS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with six South Korean companies to undertake conceptual and feasibility studies towards establishing a full value chain related to carbon dioxide (CO2) capture, transport and storage.

PETRONAS signed an agreement with JAPEX to collaborate on carbon capture and storage (CCS) opportunities, including suitable carbon dioxide (CO2) storage solutions in Malaysia.

Petronas shake hands with Shenergy Group Company Limited and signed a Heads of Agreement (HOA), in order to supply around 1.5 MTPA of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to its Wuhaogou receiving terminal in China. Specifically, the 12-year LNG agreement is scheduled to begin from 2022.

The Malaysian energy company Petronas announced that a pipe rupture and a fire incident unexpectedly occurred at the Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP). According to the company, the incidents took place early in the morning, at 1:59 AM, approximately 4 km from Long Selulong, Ulu Baram, Miri.

PETRONAS announced that PETRONAS Floating LNG Satu (PFLNG Satu) at the Kebabangan cluster field, conducted its first LNG drop by its floating LNG facility. The facility is located 910 kilometres offshore Sabah. The first LNG delivery is scheduled for June, 2019.

Petroliam Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS), through its subsidiary PETRONAS LNG Ltd (PLL), announced another successful completion of LNG break bulk ship-to-ship transfer, that was recently conducted in Brunei Bay. The STS transfers through Arctic and Polar Spirit vessels were conducted in 72 hours, manifesting a just-in-time (JIT) principle, driving the operational cost to the minimum level.
