The passenger vessel ‘Odyssey’ experienced mechanical failure as it was off Rowe’s Wharf in Boston Harbor, on Thursday, June 21. As a result, the boat hit six sailboats in the mooring field.
The incident took place while the ‘Odyssey’ was getting underway for a harbor cruise with 328 passengers onboard.
The US Coast Guard launched a crew from Coast Guard Station Boston to verify that all persons involved are safe and examine the condition of the vessels impacted.

No injuries, significant damage or pollution have been reported.
Captain Claudia Gelzer, Sector Boston Captain of the Port, noted:
The Coast Guard, Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts Environmental Police and Boston Fire Department immediately responded to ensure no one was hurt. We are investigating the cause to prevent future accidents.
USCG is now investigating the incident to determine the cause of it. In addition, alcohol testing of the operator was conducted on site.
