The US Coast Guard informed that it is responding to a report of a spill of marine diesel fuel at the APM Terminal in Bayonne, New Jersey, which happened on Wednesday, 25 of April.
APM Terminal alerted the National Response Centre that the fuel spilled into Newark Bay while a ship was refueling pier-side at the terminal.
The source of the spill is now secured and USCG pollution responders are on the incident scene. Commercial clean-up crews are using boom to restrain as much of the fuel as possible, while at the same time recovering product from the waterway.
