OGCI Climate Investments announced that the company’s first Venture Day “Towards Zero Methane Emissions” will take place on Monday, June 25, 2018 in Washington DC. The company will provide up to $20 million to invest in technologies and business ideas to reduce methane emissions.
OGCI Climate Investments wants to leverage ideas that can reduce methane emissions across the energy value chain and that can be commercialised and deployed at a large scale.
For this reason OGCI invited companies and business models in the areas of methane detection, measurement and mitigation, to submit their ideas or funding proposals. Ten to fifteen companies will be selected to present at the Venture Day. Successful applicants will receive funding, technical expertise, and potential piloting and deployment opportunities.
The Oil and Gas Climate Initiative was launched in 2014, and is made up of ten oil and gas companies that collaborate to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. OGCI Climate Investments focuses on carbon capture, utilisation and storage, energy efficiency and transport efficiency.
