Arriva Shipping has entered into an agreement with the Chinese shipyard Jiangsu SOHO Marine Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. to construct a new dry cargo vessel with a 2 MW battery hybrid system.
According to the company, the vessel, designated SH008, is scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2026 and will join its sister vessels, MV Nor Viking (delivered in 2022) and SH007 (due in December 2025), as part of the company’s ongoing fleet renewal and growth strategy.
This investment aligns with our goal of modernizing the fleet and reducing our carbon footprint. SH008 builds on the success of Nor Viking and its hybrid technology, further enhancing our efficiency and sustainability.
