Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) informed that from 8 to 10 April 2019, it carried out an audit of Equinor and the design and fabrication of the hull and living quarters for the Johan Castberg FPSO.
The goal of the audit was to ensure that the design engineering and fabrication of the hull and living quarters for the Johan Castberg FPSO is complying with the company’s own requirements as well as the regulatory requirements.

There was also a sub-objective regarding the monitoring of how the company is meeting its supervisory duty in respect of the suppliers.
One non-conformity was identified in relation to:
- Non-conformity handling in the management system.
What is more, two improvement points were also identified regarding:
- The company’s follow-up;
- Management of projection execution.
Equinor now has until 28 June 2019 to report how it will address the non-conformity and improvement points.
