On September 18, 2024, Folk Maritime Services and the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers – Middle East Chapter (ICS ME) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance maritime training in the Middle East.
This collaboration is focused on providing specialized maritime training for Saudi nationals, targeting both new graduates and experienced professionals. The initiative supports the Kingdom’s rapidly expanding maritime sector and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 by empowering local talent to contribute to the global industry.
The MoU was signed by Captain Zarir Iràni of ICS ME and Poul Hestbæk, CEO of Folk Maritime. The partnership aims to upskill Saudi professionals through high-quality training, including digitized content from the ICS online academy.
ICS ME Chairman, Ali Canani, highlighted the significance of this initiative in preparing Saudi professionals to lead in the future of the maritime industry.
