A new trilateral agreement was signed on 6 June, within the framework of the St. Petersburg international economic forum, on the creation of the Bronka transport, aiming to make Saint-Petersburg a new transport hub.
Construction of the TLC Bronka will allow Saint-Petersburg to a maximum cargo handling capacity and a high level of infrastructure which will help to speed up transportation process and reduce overall logistics costs due to the economy of scale and more efficient interaction of several modes of transport.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Chairman of The Board of JSC “Russian Railways” Oleg Belozerov, acting Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov and General Director of “TLC “Bronka” LLC Andrey Zaitsev.
The project of TLC “Bronka” includes the construction of the main railway infrastructure (7 tracks with a total length of more than 7 km), including auxiliary facilities, access roads, warehouses, service points on an area of more than 310 000 m2. The project is to be implemented at the “TLC Bronka” LLC own expense, without public funding.
Railway tracks and cargo handling infrastructure of TLC “Bronka” and the adjacent port “Bronka” (operator and owner –”Fenix” LLC), as well as the unification of cargo units (containers) will provide additional transport and investment attractiveness of the city and the Leningrad region.
Under the agreement, “TLC “Bronka” LLC will develop investment proposals for the construction of various types (industrial, logistics, transport etc.) of facilities, search for and attract financing, and subsequently ensure the effective operation of facilities.
In turn, JSC “Russian Railways” and the administration of St. Petersburg within their powers are ready to provide the necessary information and consulting for these projects.
In the development of this project, the experience gained in the design, construction and commissioning of the modern deep-sea port Bronka played an important role. Considering prospects of development of international trade, there is every reason to believe that TLC Bronka will accelerate the integration of the national transport system of the Russian Federation into the global transport system of cargo transportation,
