Neptune Lines announced it has submitted its United Nations Global Compact Communication on Progress (COP) for 2016, which is also publicly available on the on the Global Compact website. The company highlights that this is an important step taken towards its sustainability path.
Specifically, with this stand alone document, the company reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.
For each of these four areas, this Communication on Progress (COP) outlines the company’s, goals and assessments as well as the implementation and outcomes to integrate the Ten Principles of the UNGC into our business strategy, culture and daily operations.
”Neptune Lines aims for higher standards for corporate sustainability performance and disclosure by also adopting, and reporting on, policies and processes in the following areas: Corporate Sustainability Governance & Leadership , Implementing the Ten Principles into Strategies & Operations in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment, Anti-Corruption, UN goals and issues” the company stated in a press release.
UN Global Compact highlights that by incorporation the Ten Principles into their strategies, companies are setting the stage for long-term success.
