Neptune Energy, oil and gas company, commenced its first subsea installation and construction campaign on the Duva field in the North Sea off Norway, with the installation of the Integrated Template Structure (ITS).
According to the company, the ITS is the first large scale piece of fabrication work to take place on the Neptune-operated field. The company was expecting the weather conditions to be favourable, to install it over a five-day campaign.
Neptune Energy Norge’s Managing Director Odin Estensen, commented
By installing the ITS now, we are on track for undertaking drilling later this year, leaving us well positioned to reach first oil in the fourth quarter of 2020.
Overall, the company submitted development plans for the Duva (PL636) and Gjøa P1 (PL153) projects to Norwegian authorities on 21 February this year.

The project received approval on its development plans for the Duva (PL636) and Gjøa P1 (PL153) projects in the North Sea in late June.
First production from the projects is expected in late 2020 with total recoverable resources estimated to be 120 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe).
Moreover, the maximum production is expected to be respectively 30,000 boe from Duva and 24,000 boe from Gjøa P1.
