Nautilus International, the union for maritime professionals at sea and ashore, announced that it is joining the European Transport Workers affiliates from across Europe to highlight the worsening wages and conditions that more than 10 million transport workers face nowadays.
Generally, the European Transport Workers launched the campaign ‘Fair Transport Europe’.
What European transport workers demand is quality jobs and a safe, reliable service.
The movement seems to have more acceptance, as coordinated actions by unions across Europe show the strength of the movement against exploitation and unfair competition.
Additionally, the European Transport Workers’ Federation is leading an international action week on 22-27 March. 1000s of workers from the Arctic Circle to the Mediterranean Sea will bring the message of equality to the world.
