The London P&I Club has issued news alert to inform that their Correspondent in the Philippines, Pandiman Philippines Inc, reports that there have been some problems arising out of a nickel ore cargo being offered for shipment from a port which is not near to a nickel ore mine.
The Club advises operators to be particularly vigilant when fixing to load and/or loading nickel ore cargo from such ports. Operators are reminded of the dangers associated with the carriage of nickel ore, which may liquefy if the moisture content of the cargo exceeds the Transportable Moisture Limit.
