NYK announced that has been selected, for a fourth consecutive year, “Best Green Shipping Line” by HAROPA, a joint venture comprising the French ports of Le Havre, Rouen, and Paris.
Every year since 2012, HAROPA has evaluated vessels calling its three ports and recognized shipping companies attaining high scores on the Environmental Ship Index (ESI). ESI is an index administered by the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH), to measure a ship’s emissions based on the amount of nitrogen oxide (NOx), sulphur oxide (SOx), particulate matter (PM), and greenhouse gas released. NYK was one of 12 shipping lines recognized for 2015.
NYK noted that will continue its efforts to contribute to the realization of a global environment and sustainable society, aiming to be a leading company in the safety and environmental field.
