The Hong Kong Marine Department has issued Note to inform that the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MPEC) of IMO at its 66th session has adopted guidelines or specification for the implementation of Annex VI of MARPOL 73/78.
On 4 April 2014, IMO MEPC adopted the following documents for the implementation of Annex VI of MARPOL 73/78:
- 2014 Guidelines on the Approved Method Process (Resolution MEPC.243(66));
- 2014 Standard Specification for Shipboard Incinerators (Resolution MEPC.244(66)); and
- 2014 Guidelines on the Method of Calculation of the Attained Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) for New Ships (Resolution MEPC.245(66)).
