The Greek Ministry of Tourism along with the Cyprus Shipping Deputy Ministry attended a meeting and discussed several issues concerning the maritime tourism and the new ferry connection line between the two regions, which is estimated to start operations during summer 2020.
In fact, both countries had the opportunity to discuss the matter of the ferry link at hand, while introduced the economic benefits and the cruise tourism growth which their connection will bring.
Moreover, the two sides focused on the the field of cruise industry and decided to take joint initiatives at European Union level, in order to interconnect ports that are a tourism destination.

The matter of the diving tourism was also on the spotlight during the meeting, while the Greek and Cypriot investment in maritime tourism and the establishment of new marinas was discussed as well.
For the records, the meeting was present by the Greek Minister of Tourism, Mr. Haris Theocharis, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Manos Consolas, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Konstantinos Loulis, the Cyprus Shipping Deputy Minister, Ms. Natasa Pilides, the Deputy Director General Mr. Costas Iacovou and the Ship Inspector of the First Maritime Bureau of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Athens, Mr. Adonis Pavlidis.
