Fuella has signed an agreement with the Port of Pecém (Complexo do Pecém) in Ceará, Brazil, for a large-scale green ammonia project.
According to Fuella, the plant will produce 400,000 tons of green ammonia annually once operational. The Port of Pecém, a partner port of the Port of Rotterdam, offers essential infrastructure, including export terminals, and numerous industrial synergies to support the project.
Furthermore, as explained by the company, Ceará is an ideal location for green hydrogen and ammonia production, benefiting from abundant wind, solar, and hydro power.
We are very happy and proud to be able to secure this project in the Port of Pecém. This is one of the best locations in the world for the production of green hydrogen and ammonia. We thank the Port of Pecém and its shareholders, the State of Ceará and the Port of Rotterdam for their trust.

The signing was celebrated with Ceará’s Governor, Elmano de Freitas. This marks Fuella’s second green ammonia project in Brazil as the company strives to build robust supply chains for green hydrogen and ammonia, connecting key production sites with major demand centers.
To remind, in July 2024, Stolthaven Terminals, in co-operation with Global Energy Storage (GES), was selected as the only ‘potential operator’ to plan, design, build and operate a green ammonia terminal in Pecém.
