Namely, the gas cleaning system will be 11 meters in height and 8.3 meters wide, and will use seawater to clean the exhaust gas waste.
Almi Tankers recognises the need to consistently and continuously improve performance, especially in environmental issues. Therefore, all vessels in Almi Tankers’ fleet will always be equipped with top of the line technologies to enhance safety and ensure the best possible protection of the environment. The vessel specifications reflect Almi Tankers’ aim of ensuring reliable and efficient operation throughout the vessel’s life.
The Almi Atlas will comply with the latest regulations and industry requirements, incorporating an environmentally friendly design. Almi Atlas’s engine is a Green-type (G-type) engine, and is one of the first vessels of its size with a Tier III engine.
The G-type engine offers important fuel savings and produces less emissions than engines with the same output. The vessel is also fitted with SOx Scrubber, which exceeds the industry’s requirements.
According to Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, scrubbers will become the preferred choice for green vessels in the future, which will replace older vessels, to comply with the 2020 Sulfur cap.
