The crew of carrier managed to put off a fire that took plce onboard off Vietnam, on February 5.
The fire erupted onboard the “Ah Shin”, with local media reporting that the incident left the Panama-flag ship adrift about 45km from the coast.
What is more, the fire began to spread from decks eight, nine and 10 of the 200-metre ship.
After the fire, the shipowner requested help from Vietnamese authorities. The fire was brought under control by, but the ship was still emitting a strong burning smell.
No injuries have been reported and the extent of damage is unknown.
While the he cause of the incident is not yet clear, sources indicate tha the fire may have started from a vehicle.
