According to the Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service Control, bulk carrier Sirina’s cargo caught fire, while the ship was berthed at the Port of Southampton on May 25.
Crews from 8 stations across Hampshire responded to the fire in Southampton Docks, which was located in the cargo hold containing scrap metal.

The cargo ship was containing 7000 tonnes of scrap metal for most of the afternoon, with the being on the site many hours, trying to remove the scrap metal from the vessel.
After over 24-hours of firefighting, the crews that responded on the incident left, and they returned in the evening to reinspect the scene of the fire.
All persons were accounted for and there were no injuries as result of the incident.
