Ship lacked of IMO certification
Egyptian officials have denied permission for an Israeli container ship that had caught fire and was in need of repairs to dock at a port at the southern tip of the Suez Canal, Huffington Post reports.
Brig. Gen. Mohsin Hamad says the ship did not hold certification from the International Maritime Organization that is requirement for entry to Egyptian ports and the strategic water corridor Suez canal. However, no information about the ship has been provided by the Israel’s Foreign Ministry.
A fire broke out on the ship several days ago while it was in waters near Djibouti.
