Dry bulk shipowner EBE has joined the Global Maritime Forum as an associate partner and has signed on to the Sea Cargo Charter.
The Sea Cargo Charter provides a framework for assessing and disclosing the climate alignment of charterers and shipowners as a means of promoting international shipping’s decarbonisation. It establishes a common, global baseline to quantitatively assess and disclose whether chartering activities are in line with internationally adopted climate goals.
I’m very pleased that EBE wants to support the Global Maritime Forum and its activities, and we look forward to seeing them at our workshops and at the Annual Summit in Antwerp next year,
… said Christian Jacob Hansen, director of partnerships and community engagement at the Global Maritime Forum.
EBE CEO Basile Aloy said the Belgian shipowner looks forward to using the partnership to help advance the sector’s collective goals.

He noted that through this partnership, EBE could draw inspiration from other shipping leaders, contribute to working groups focused on improving seafarer welfare, and collaborate to accelerate decarbonization efforts.
It was also announced that the Global Maritime Forum’s Annual Summit in 2025 would be held in Antwerp, which is conveniently located near EBE’s base of operations.
With EBE joining, the total number of partners in the Global Maritime Forum increased to 68.
