Indonesian teams have successfully salvaged the 23-year-old tanker Liberty, registered under the flag of Cameroon that run aground in the waters of the Singapore Strait.
In a recent incident, a vessel transporting a substantial cargo of Venezuelan fuel oil, amounting to nearly 1 million barrels, encountered a mishap as it ran aground on Saturday, as international news sources report.
However, after a few days of concerted efforts, the vessel was successfully freed from its predicament on Wednesday, thanks to the assistance provided by a fleet of five tugboats.
The ship in question is currently in a stationary position, indicating that it is undergoing assessment for necessary repairs. It is also important to note that this news comes only a few days after the International Maritime Organization (IMO) adopted a resolution to combat harmful maritime operations by focusing on the “shadow fleet” and their illegal shipping practises.
