It has been reported that the Japanese Authorities forbid the entrance of Holland America Line’s Westerdam cruise ship after allegations that the vessels have passengers infected by the coronavirus; Yet, the cruise line informs that ‘despite erroneous media reports, the ship is not in quarantine and there are no known cases of coronavirus on board.‘
Specifically, Holland America Line was informed that the Japanese Government will not allow Westerdam to call in Japanese ports.
Typically, the vessel was scheduled to embark in Yokohama on February 15, but it has been cancelled.
Now, the cruise company is trying to change plans for the guests onboard the vessel, while also keeping them updated the minute information becomes available.

In addition, it is noted that for Westerdam sailings scheduled to depart after February 15 no changes have been announced at this time but booked guests and their travel advisors will be notified as information is available.
Overall, recently Princess cruises company confirmed that ten passengers onboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship have been tested positive for coronavirus, which led to company cancelling the vessel’s next voyage as they though it was important to thoroughly review the health status of guests.
