According to reports, the US coast guard commenced a search operation of a 37-year-old man who fell overboard from the cruise ship Carnival Victory. The incident took place on July 4, while the vessel was sailing northwest of Cuba.
At the time, the ship was sailing back to Miami from Cozumel.
According to the coastguard’s statement, the man fell while the vessel was about 30 miles northwest of Cuba.
Coast Guard 7th District watchstanders received a report from the Carnival Victory that the crewmember was seen going overboard.
Watchstanders launched a Coast Guard Air Station Miami HC-144 Ocean Sentry airplane crew and diverted the Coast Guard Cutter Charles Sexton (WPC-1108) crew to search.
