The Evergreen Marine-owned containership Ever Forward was proceeding with a pilot on board when it grounded, yesterday, March 13, in Chesapeake Bay. Until this moment the containership remains stuck, while media around the world take great interest in the accident.
Currently, divers in collaboration with a team of experts are inspecting the containership for any potential damage and are trying to find the best way possible to free it.
The vessel left the Port of Baltimore on Sunday night en route to Norfolk, Virginia, when it ran aground outside the main shipping channel.
It is not blocking the navigation while at the same time the reason for the grounding is yet to be determined. There have been no injuries or pollution resulting from the incident.
