The largest LNG-powered container ship, CMA CGM “Jacques Saade” set a new global record for the number of full containers loaded onboard a single vessel.
In fact, following its departure from Singapore on Monday 12th October, the CMA CGM Group’s new flagship was carrying a record 20,723 full containers. A record set by a world leader in shipping and logistics.
After joining company’s fleet on 22nd September, the vessel is now on its maiden voyage on the CMA CGM Group’s French Asia Line, connecting Asia with Europe.
For the records, this line provides a weekly service comprising 13 calls over the course of 84 days.
Initiated by Rodolphe Saadé, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the CMA CGM Group, this newly commissioned mega vessel is the first of our nine 23,000-TEU LNG-powered vessels to enter commercial operations. It marks a new era of sustainable giant ships to join our fleet, propelling the Group’s energy transition towards a neutral carbon shipping industry.
