On 19th August, a 999-ton chemical tanker Falcon Chemist was damaged by fire in the Yellow Sea, approximately 43 nautical miles west of Gunsan, Korea.
The Korean Coast Guard, after being informed, sent immediately a patrol ship for the 16 crew members, including the Korean captain and crew hailing from Myanmar.
The tanker was ballasting from Changshu China to Taesan, Korea.
According to news, the fire erupted in the engine room, but luckily it was extinguished on 20th August.
The fire didn’t cause big damage and there were no chemicals onboard during the accident.
As explained, after this incident the tanker will be towed to Yeosu.
