The Spanish firm CEPSA recently announced that it has started to supply 0.1 % ultra-low-sulphur fuel oil in Algeciras Bay in Gibraltar, in order to meet the upcoming global limit of 0.50% m/m sulphur content in fuel oil, effective from 1 January 2020.
CEPSA begun commercializing 0.1 percent ULSFO in Algeciras Bay on 1st February. The company says that ULSFO complies with ISO’s RMD 80 parameters and marine gas oil (MGO).
ULSFO is said to be sold at a discount on the company’s MGO price, however exact price has not been given.
In October CEPSA was reported as the first supplier in the Strait of Gibraltar to install mass flow meters (MFMs) on its barges. Meanwile, in Gibraltar, the company has been involved in a project with Quadrise and Maersk .
