According to local sources, a cargo boat had suffered a partially crashed wheelhouse, when it collided on the Nordhordland Bridge near Steinestø, Norway, at the weekend. The vessel had seven people onboard, yet no injuries were reported.
Mainly, the Authorities informed that there was no oil spill in the area of the incident. However, the mast on the foreship was bent, whereas the excavator on the main deck was pushed into the wheelhouse.
Now, the Norwegian Maritime Authorities examine the cargo vessel to see the cause of the incident.
Acting Communications Director Kari Stautland added
the inspectors should look at the extent of the damage on the loading boat.
She continued that the inspectors will be onboard for a port state control.
The Accident Investigation Board Norway received the report of the accident last night. The task of the Commission is to investigate marine accidents.
The ship eventually proceeded to Steinestø under her own power. The bridge suffered only cosmetic damage, and the E39 road did not have to be closed.
