Hadiza Bala Usman, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), advised her female employees to balance work with the family life, saying that a woman needs to know when to draw a line and learn to devote time with the family, without office activities affecting her.
The discussion was during a round table, organized by Women in Management Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ).
The Managing Director highlighted to women not to nurse their fears of starting small, and to always blossom to their advantages, keeping in mind to remain focused on the core issues.
Moreover, she called career women to leave their comfort zones and face their fears, because as she stated
Fears may be real as experienced by everyone, but that it’s important to face them in order to overcome them.
The Managing Director also added that those women in paid employment who cannot find fulfilment, should leave such jobs to pursue their dreams as that’s the only place they can find joy.
Concluding, the event took place at the Bon Hotel Stratton in Abuja, with the topic ‘Freeing Yourself from Fear’.
