BW Offshore announced that it has received a one-year contract extension for the lease and operation of the FPSO vessel ‘Umuroa’. The firm period has been extended from the fourth quarter of 2017, to the fourth quarter of 2018.
The FPSO vessel ‘Umuroa’, which works for the energy company ‘Tamarind’, is currently operating on the Umuroa field offshore New Zealand.
Namely, ‘Umuroa’ works at the Tui Area oil project in the Taranaki Basin offshore the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand.
In this project, oil is produced from four wells at the Tui, Amokura and Pateke oil fields via subsea wells which are connected to the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, ‘Umuroa’.
